Once, a long time ago, there was peace. No one was perfect of course - everyone was both evil and good. At least, until Chi was born.
Chi was a red stallion who loved power, and would do anything he could to gain it. He killed his father through means unknown to all at that time, and few know today. He abused the mares he gained, letting none leave until they each bore him a son, and then they left to go along Death's path. When a daughter was born, he kept it, using it for part of his harem. He became known as the Lie, for the only thing you could know was true was that he rarely spoke a truth.
Chi taught his sons in his ways, and all was going as he wanted - for he was now King with no one daring oppose him - until two of his many, many sons rose against him. They told him they didn't believe in the teachings taught to them since their birth. They told him they couldn't be like Chi - though, surprisingly, they looked the most like him, having been his grandaughters' sons. He put them aside, supposing it just to be a thing of youth. But the two began speaking to the others, trying to find what they thought.
The eldest of the two, named Ryuu, thought they should go back to the time before, the time his mother's mother's mother had told her daughter, who had told her daughter, who had told her son, about everyone being either good or bad, not one or the other. Ryuu took a small band of stallions (for the old days were said to be old and no longer the right choice) and wandered around, running away from their father. They searched for mares untainted by Chi, and soon they had a few herds with a few foals.
The younger was Toranpu, and believed his father was completely wrong. He called himself the Truthspeaker, for he wanted nothing to do with the lies and deceit, the blood and the death, that accompanied Chi's reign, and even Ryuu's idea. Many followed him, for they hated their father. They went as far away as they could, but it was still not far enough for some. After a few rocky years... The Truths were born, the purest of soul.
Ryuu's group was called the Outcasts, for they could not make up their mind about which way they wanted to be. Sometimes they were closer to Chi's group, now called the Lies by the Truths and the Outcasts, and sometimes closer to the Truths.
Many, many years later, most are dead, due to imbreeding on the most part. But new equine are arriving - a new story to see who shall triumph over all. So who are you?
